A compact, rugged submersible handheld VHF that features all International, USA and Canadian channels and a highly legible LCD display. It features a dedicated channel 9/16 button. Programmable scan allows you to scan any number of channels and the preset key allows you to recall the 8 most frequently used channels.

The huge LCD display features large, clear digits and bold information flags including battery life indicator. The LCD and keypad are backlit for optimum night visibility. With 700mW of audio power, the Standard Horizon HX500E can be heard in even the loudest conditions.

The submersible accessory socket allows connection of optional headsets and speaker microphones and the unique high intensity strobe light emits the internationally recognised SOS signal that can be seen over 1km away at night.
