The IC-F51/F61 series is Icom's first waterproof handportable for the Private Mobile Radio Market. The IC-F51/F61 meets the same waterproofing standards as many Icom marine VHF handhelds and brings a new durability to tough working environments. This makes it ideal for anyone whose communications needs place them both indoors and outdoors.

In addition to being fully waterproof, the IC-F51/F61 features a compact body that is small enough to fit in a shirt pocket. It is extra-durable and shockproof, whilst weighing less than most professional radios on the market. Because of the waterproof construction of this radio, this radio is highly corrosion resistant and dust proof, making it ideal for a variety of harsh environments such as construction, the events industry etc, not just those involving water.

The IC-F51/F61 comes with a 1700mAh Lithium-Ion battery providing a practical 10 hours of operating time. An 8 character 14-segment alphanumeric LCD offers easily recognisable status and performance information and ease of operation in low-light environments. Built-in signalling capabilities and optional voice-scramblers (this is optional) enable secure group communication without compromising the waterproof integrity of the radio.

The IC-F51 is the VHF version and the IC-F61 is the UHF version.

JIS Grade 7 Waterproof protection
The gasket sealed waterproof housing provides superior waterproof protection, equivalent to JIS Grade 7*. Reliable and dependable use in harsh conditions such as rain, snow, sudden change in temperature, make the IC-F51/F61 the radio for all situations. * 1m depth for 30 minutes.

Up to 7 programmable buttons
The [P0]–[P3], [Red] and [Up], [Down] buttons are programmable to meet specific needs. The [Red] button on the top panel can be assigned as an emergency trigger.

Wide range coverage and large channel capacity
The IC-F51/F61 covers a wide frequency range in one version. The large capacity of 128 memory channels with 8 memory banks allows you to divide and store a variety of channels from local to wide area network channels. Wide, middle and narrow (25/20/12.5kHz) channel bandwidth is programmable to each channel.

Lithium-Ion battery pack and rapid charger as standard
The IC-F51/61 series is supplied with 1.7Ah Li-Ion battery pack that provides 10 hours operation on a single charge (TX, RX, Standby 5:5:90) and a BC-160 desktop rapid charger as standard. Lithium-Ion batteries provide larger capacity and a longer operating time than a Ni-Cd or Ni-MH battery pack and allow flexible charging without memory effect.

Compact body
56(W)×97(H)×36.4(D) mm compact body with durable, dependable construction, meets MIL standard specifications. The compact design fits comfortably in your palm, and is easy to carry around.

Built in Voice scrambler
The IC-F51/F61 has a built-in inversion type voice scrambler in all versions. When a more secure system is required, versions with a rolling type voice scrambler* equivalent to the UT-110 are available. * Built-in, optional unit not required.

Two-Year Warranty
The IC-F51/F61 is supplied with a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty (1 year on the battery).
